Meet your doula

Being a doula isn’t just a job to me , it’s a calling.

ABOUT ME.

ABOUT ME.

MY journey to birthwork

My name is Jazra Standley, better known as Jaz. As the oldest sibling of 5 and the oldest grandchild of 6, I have always been around babies. I was able to combine my passion for public health and children in 2023. I currently work with pregnant and parenting teens and their children.

My journey to becoming a doula began with a graduate school project, regarding black maternal health. I created a project around doulas and their significance in positive birth outcomes. While it was just a school assignment, I realized that it could actually be something more.

I signed up for my doula training shortly after graduating and quickly fell in love with the work. It was an incredible feeling to be surrounded by others who felt the same passion and commitment towards birthwork. I want everyone to feel empowered
